Segment 1: Week in Review, Habs News, League News

The week started with the Canadiens qualifying RFAs: Max Domi,
Charles Hudon, Victor Mete, Xavier Ouellet and Noah Juulsen.
The Canadiens placed Karl Alzner on unconditional waivers for the purposes of buying out the remaining two years of his contract.
The Canadiens sign Noah Juulsen to a one-year, two-way contract.
The team also came to an agreement on a one-year contract with Victor Mete.
Xavier Ouellet is back in the fold, after he also signed a new two-year, two-way contract with the Habs.
Canadiens have signed Brandon Baddock to a one-year, two-way contract.
The Canadiens traded Max Domi and a 3rd round pick to Columbus in exchange for Josh Anderson. The Habs then signed Anderson to a seven-year deal worth $38.5 million.
They Said What – Domi and Anderson edition. Hearing from both parties involved in the trade between Montreal and Columbus.

Segment 2: The NHL Entry Draft

Rick and Joe take a look at the Canadiens performance at the 2020 NHL Draft. Last week the guys each provided three players the Canadiens could target with the 16th pick, the Habs did not end up picking on of those players, instead selecting Kaiden Guhle. The later rounds saw the Canadiens select Luke Tuch, Jan Mysak, Jack Smith, Blake Biondi, Sean Farrell, Jakub Dobes and Alexander Gordin.

Alexander Romanov has gotten married. Congratulations to he and his wife, Sofia.
Habs prospects Cole Caufield and Jayden Struble have been invited to Team USA Junior camp.
The Canadiens sign Jake Lucchini to a one-year, two-way contract.
The team also came to an agreement with Michael McNiven on a one-year, two-way contract.
They Said What? – Marc Bergevin was on TSN Montreal and touched on a variety of subjects including his thoughts on the 2019-20 season, Max Domi and Jonathan Drouin.
The Bergevin media tour was in full force. He also touched on Cole Caufield, the NHL Draft and Free Agency amongst other subjects.

Segment 2: The NHL Entry Draft

Rick and Joe turn their attention to the upcoming 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The Canadiens have the 16th overall pick, which is not where anyone expected them to be before their improbable playoff run. Who should the Canadiens select with that pick? Who might be available? The guys discuss some of the possibilities and who they would like to see the Canadiens select.

Canadiens have signed Jeff Petry to a four-year contract extension, with an annual average value of $6.25 million.
The Canadiens also signed Jake Evans to a two-year contract extension.

The Laval Rocket sign Kevin Lynch to a one-year, one-way AHL contract for the 2020-21 season. Lynch appeared in 54 games for the Rocket last season.
They Said What? – Darren Dreger said Montreal could be a possible destination for Taylor Hall. Is it actually possible the Canadiens net the biggest fish of 2020 Free Agency? Jesperi Kotkaniemi revisits the 2018 NHL Draft.
Corey Pronman of The Athletic released his organizational rankings, ranking the young players of each NHL team. The Canadiens finished ninth in his ranking.
Nick Bjugstad traded from Pittsburgh to Minnesota in exchange for a conditional pick.
A report indicated Robin Lehner signed a contract extension with Vegas, but Lehner denied.
NHL Critical dates calendar update. The NHL Draft has been moved up to October 6th and 7th, while Free Agency will commence on the 9th. What happens after the Draft and Free Agency? When will the 2020-21 season start?

Segment 2: Marc Bergevin is Shopping

Elliotte Friedman reported that it could be Phillip Danault who might be traded by the Canadiens, instead of Max Domi who has been the source of speculation for the past few weeks. Friedman noted that he’s heard Danault’s name out there and the Habs are at least “testing the market” for him. Rick and Joe discuss this new development for the Montreal Canadiens.
Rick is joined by special guest Sam Gerber of Rocket Sports.

Michael McNiven had a scare early this week when he was struck in the mask by a Shea Weber slapshot.
Phillip Danault, Ryan Poehling, Victor Mete, Cale Fleury and Cayden Primeau rejoined the main group. While Brett Kulak and Xavier Ouellet also returned to practice after testing positive for the coronavirus.
Who’s in and who’s out? Taking a look around the NHL at players who joined their team after an absence and who’s out.
In an article from The Athletic, the Canadiens were ranked the 24th team out of 24. While their coach Claude Julien fared a little bit better in a ranking of coaches on NHL.com.
They said what? Carey Price had the quote of the week when asked how to slow down Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. While his backup Charlie Lindgren is garnering praise for his play in camp.
The Seattle Kraken have been revealed as the 32nd NHL franchise.
Impact of the Coronavirus. The Blue Jays are no longer homeless. The CFL headed to Winnipeg?

Canadiens owner Geoff Molson spoke to the media this week, saying that he is excited about the next “three to eight years”. Rick and Joe take a look at his comments and wonder what to make of them.
Max Domi also spoke to the media this week, and perhaps reignited a major rivalry in the process.
Jonathan Drouin revealed that he has been spending time watching film with Habs assitant coach Dominique Ducharme, who coached Drouin in junior.
Former Canadiens defenceman, Andrei Markov, was in the news again this week. He hired agent Allan Walsh to help him get back to the NHL.
Elliotte Friedman made some interesting comments on Tim & Sid Thursday. Bringing up the idea that Marc Bergevin and the Canadiens are still “looking at moves to add to their team”. He also added that the Canadiens were interested in Jake Gardiner earlier this summer, but their interest was not reciprocated.
Sportsnet let some familiar names go from their hockey coverage including Nick Kypreos, Doug MacLean and John Shannon.

Segment 2: The Big Topic.

What looked to be the Canadiens draft list was leaked on TVA and made the rounds on social media. The Canadiens official Twitter account denied that this was used by the team at the NHL draft in Vancouver. Rick and Joe discuss what this means and take a deeper look at Montreal’s lack of transparency.
